How will you contribute?
The Installation Technician works with their peers to prepare committee rooms and other designated areas for special functions. It is also requested to make office moves for Senators and Senate Administration staff. The technician makes repairs, paints the walls of offices. The successful candidate will be called upon to deliver, assemble and fit out different types of furniture, equipment, screens, partitions, shelves, all handled with care according to the procedures in place. Maybe call to help the driver unload the delivery truck.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience carrying out maintenance duties such as minor repairs, painting, installing accessories, assembling furniture and room installation;
• Successful completion of secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education and/or experience;
• A technical degree or skilled trades certificate would be considered a strong asset;
• Experience in the safe handling and transportation objects such as heritage furniture, antiques, fragile goods and other equipment;
• Knowledge of the methods, techniques, practices and processes involved in the provision of installation services;
• Ability to read and comprehend installation instructions to ensure the requirements are met;
• Ability to provide a high-quality customer service experience;
• Ability to use excellent judgement and to manage competing priorities.
