How will you contribute?
The Chief, Administration and Strategic Operations supports the Director General in the overall management of the Directorate’s operations, ensuring all programs and services remain aligned with Directorate and Senate priorities. This responsibility extends to establishing and coordinating the strategic planning and delivery process on behalf of the Director General, to ensuremonitoring, reporting and, coordinating the delivery of diverse administrative services, as well as providing business guidance, support, and orientation to the Property and Service Directors, Managers and functional line Supervisors particularly as it relates to the overall operations of their respective areas and timely delivery of their programs and / or initiatives.
The incumbent provides leadership and high-level operational support on the day-to-day management of information by communicating and coordinating with members of the directorate to ensure the continued seamless operations of the Property and Services Directorate are met, and brings procedural, corporate, and institutional knowledge that enables an appropriate response to issues and events impacting the Directorate.

Prerequisites
- University Degree or diploma in a professional management field or area of specialization relevant to the position, (e.g., public administration, business administration) OR or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position;
- Experience in public and/or private sector positions, providing strategic and operational support;
- Experience in collaborating, influencing, and negotiating with executive-level stakeholder representatives , in order to help the Directorate, achieve its mandate;
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices associated with strategic planning, business, and management;
- Considerable knowledge of the Senate’s mandate, responsibilities, key personnel, value and culture, structure and composition, and business lines in order to effectively carry out the duties of the position is considered an asset;
- Deep knowledge of business operations of the Property and Services Directorate (PSD) is considered an asset;
- Deep knowledge of administrative related matters, strategic planning frameworks, risk analysis, and stakeholder management in order to best advise the Director-General;
- Ability to professionally represent the Director-General with executives, staff, and other stakeholders during meetings, while coordinating activities, and at events;
- Ability to multitask, remain flexible and pivot, depending on operational demands.
