How will you contribute?
Are you interested in helping shape how work is organized and valued across the Senate? As the Organizational Design & Classification Advisor, you will provide expert advice on organizational design, job evaluation, and classification for both unionized and non-unionized positions. You will work closely with HR colleagues, managers, and other stakeholders to support organizational changes, assess classification impacts, and help ensure positions are aligned with business needs.
In this role, you will manage classification and job evaluation requests, conduct organizational reviews to identify and resolve classification issues, and lead Senate classification committees in accordance with established procedures. You will also play a key role in reviewing and modernizing the Senate's classification program, including its governance, processes, practices, and tools to improve service delivery and efficiency. In partnership with Labour Relations and HR teams, you will support the resolution of classification grievances and provide organizational design recommendations that help build the structures and capabilities needed to achieve the Senate's strategic objectives.

Prerequisites
- Successful completion of a university degree or diploma in a relevant area of study or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position;
- Significant experience applying principles, standards, procedures and tools related to human resources classification;
- Experience in analyzing and evaluating jobs, writing job descriptions, and preparing classification rationales;
- Proven ability to advise and influence leaders on complex classification and organizational design matters
- Experience leading classification committees and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop practical and creative solutions to address evolving business needs;
- Sound judgment in interpreting classification policies and guidelines and handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Experience applying the Hay Job Evaluation Methodology is considered an asset;
- A recognized human resources professional designation, such as CHRP, or classification accreditation is considered an asset.
